You’re looking for fast and easy ways to make money online, do you actually know that you could be paid for doing a simple task as completing a survey online in your spare time?
There are literally dozens of survey sites out there that are willing to give you money in exchange for your time and effort in completing surveys.
Truth be told, the majority of these survey sites are scams.
Lots and lots of them.
I’ve written this Survey Junkie Review to analyze the paid survey program and see if they truly practice what they preach.
If you are having doubts about the Survey Junkie program whether it is legit or a scam, then this Survey Junkie Review would reveal all you need to know about the paid survey program.
Let’s get straight into it…
Survey Junkie was founded in Glendale, California around 2005 and remains one of the oldest survey sites you can find on the internet today.
The idea behind Survey Junkie just like other paid survey sites is to help you earn cash by compensating you for spending your time, sharing your unique consumer perspective to a company.
In this way, the company would better understand what potential customers really need.
Companies use survey basically for market research during product development and your qualification for a particular survey is based on the personal information you shared on your profile.
At times, you might not qualify for some surveys on Survey Junkie and you don’t need to feel bad, really!
It’s simply because you aren’t the typical consumer for the product or service the company is planning to develop or improve.
Survey Junkie has over 3,000,000 members and their mission is “connect your voice to big brand companies – helping shape our world.”
Survey Junkie is just like an aggregator of surveys that partners with other company sites.
The Market research industry changes frequently and it’s not a high paying one. If you’re having thoughts of making a lot of money to probably buy a vacation home in Hawaii, well I’m sorry to burst your bubbles.
You would only earn tiny amounts for your time spent taking surveys on Survey Junkie.
It might actually be a waste of time if you’re hoping on making significant money from the program.
A lot of survey sites out there would reel out their statistics about how they’ve paid out millions of dollars to members and how you too can make a lot of money taking surveys on their site but they are not being honest.
To prove their honesty, Survey Junkie mentioned it on their website through the answer to the question of “How much money will I make for taking surveys?”
“You will NOT get rich by taking surveys. The rewards for each survey will vary but with commitment and regular participation, you’ll have the opportunity to earn extra cash each month.”
So you see!
If you want to actually break the bank, Survey Junkie is not your go-to program.
Signing up to Survey Junkie is a pretty fast process.
Just like every other survey companies, registration into Survey Junkie is free but restricted to some certain countries.
They only accept members from the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Once you get to Survey Junkie homepage, click on the “Join Now” button to get started.
Then, you’ll get the option of joining either using Facebook, Google or via your email address directly.
While some survey sites require you to be at least 18 years old before allowed to sign up, Survey Junkie accepts users who are 13 years or older.
After joining, all you need to do is to create your profile by filling your user information providing your email address, zip code, date of birth, gender, and then your desired password.
You don’t need to input your phone number during registration with Survey Junkie.
Just for signing up to the platform which takes maybe 10 seconds, you’d get 25 points.
Upon registration, you’d be sent a confirmation mail to the e-mail address you use in signing up and once you confirm your email address, you’d get additional 25 points.
After that, you’d be asked to complete profile by answering about 16 questions.
They include questions on your demography, family, health, income and some others. If you complete that successfully, you’d get 50 points.
Survey Junkie uses the answers you provide to these questions to decide which surveys you qualify for.
This is the point of earning opportunities before starting to take surveys:
Once you’re done with creating your profile in a couple of minutes, you can start taking surveys once you’re signed in your account.
On the platform, there are lots of different surveys and you’ll be told how long it’s supposed to take.
Some surveys might not be a great fit for you but Survey Junkie would still give you points for your trouble.
However, some surveys don’t give you any points and they are really short.
You’d get emails regularly about survey opportunities you can take and earn more points.
If you finish a survey successfully, you’re going to earn points which would determine how much you’ll be paid.
Survey Junkie rewards you in points instead of cash directly.
Once you complete surveys, you earn points from the surveys and the longer and more detailed the survey, the higher your earnings.
In Survey Junkie, $1 is equal to 100 points.
While some other survey sites would require you to have at least $20 or $25 as the threshold before you can cash out, The minimum payout in survey junkie is 1,000 points which equates to $10.
So you must have earned at least a thousand points ($10) before you can be ready for payout.
Average survey on Survey Junkie would pay you as low as around a few cents up to about $3.
Also, the amount you’d make with Survey Junkie is largely dependent on the number of surveys you are selected to take.
A major complaint on most survey sites is that they don’t offer a lot of surveys for members and Survey Junkie is not an exception here.
You can get about two to three surveys in a week if you’re fortunate but averagely, you’d get at least one survey every week.
So for instance, you get so fortunate and get invited to one $1 survey per week.
That’s just $8 in a month.
$8, Really… Do you think Survey Junkie is worth it?
There are various methods survey sites employ in paying out money to their members.
Some reward with cash directly while others like Survey Junkie uses a point system as mentioned earlier.
In survey junkie, you’ll get a certain amount of points as soon as you complete a survey. It could be from 20 points to 200 points.
Then you can now redeem these points to get gift cards or have them changed into cash which can be transferred to you via paypal.
If you want to get paid with gift cards, you can request payments in bits since gift cards come in set denominations like $10, $15, $20 etc.
If you don’t prefer gift cards, then you can withdraw to your PayPal accounts. You’d have to cash out all your points via PayPal
Let’s say you have accrued points equivalent to $50. With payments in gift cards, you can get $10 once and another $15 later but via PayPal, you’d be required to withdraw all your $50 once.
While some survey sites have points that expire after a while, Your points will not expire once you stay active as a Survey Junkie member.
Let’s take a look at what I love about Survey Junkie.
Although, you won’t get rich doing paid surveys like Survey Junkie, it’s still a great means to make money while doing practically nothing – zero effort.
If you are a fan of great user interface, then you would love Survey Junkie, no doubt. The Survey Junkie site has a clean and simple design which allows you to get started under a couple of minutes.
A lot of survey sites only offer gift cards and physical check as mode of payment for earnings. With Survey Junkie, you can get paid in PayPal too.
Survey Junkie has a low minimum threshold for members to cash out their earnings as compared to other survey sites. You only need to earn up to 1,000 points ($10) which shouldn’t take you more than a month or two.
One big complaints users have had about Survey Junkie is that accounts were randomly closed. Many users have had this issue. No reason or warning given about the closure. A lot of other survey sites have this issue in common.
Some users have also complained about not getting their requested payment from Survey Junkie.
While users who were able to contact Customer Care Services and inform them about the issue got paid later on, others users don’t get their earnings paid.
A lot of survey sites invite their member to surveys which they don’t qualify for and Survey Junkie isn’t an exception. Once you start the survey, you might think it suits your interests till you get stuck with some questions and get disqualified from taking the survey depending on your answer.
Currently, Survey Junkie only accepts members from United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
If you’re not from the aforementioned countries, then I’m sorry, you can’t be a part of Survey Junkie. Try other survey sites!
You can only earn tiny, insignificant amounts on Survey Junkie. The program pays as little as few cents to a dollar for answering surveys and it pretty much seem like a waste of time.
One common problem with survey sites is that they don’t have a lot of survey opportunities. You might not really not get invited to any surveys for days and even up to a week long and that sucks so bad!
Even though you can’t make enough money from survey junkie, the tips I’d share with you here would actually make the time you’d spend on the platform worthwhile.
Stay with me!
– Don’t Use your primary work email to sign up.
Trust me, you don’t want to start sorting through series of survey invites email just to find that priority email that pertains to your work. That sucks so bad!
You’d need to create another email for mainly taking paid surveys on Survey Junkie so as not to overload your primary email.
-Take the Demographic Surveys
You need to take the demographic surveys so you can get some more targeted that would pay better.
-Compare Time Vs. Points.
You need to should do a proper scrutiny of the surveys and compare the time to complete and points allocated for it before accepting which one to complete.
You should definitely go for the one that gives you the most money without spending the whole 24 hours on it. Lol, just kidding!
-Install the Survey Junkie Tips
Survey Junkie has a browser extension for serving you better-targeted and high paying surveys.
-Don’t Try To Cheat
Survey Junkie like other survey sites have algorithms that can can detect users trying to play a fast one on the system by just clicking buttons to complete the surveys as quick as possible. Make sure you take your time to finish the surveys and provide the relevant and correct answers so you can receive your earned point
-Make Sure you finish the Checklist
Like I said earlier, there are lots of points you can earn in the pre-survey section.
You earn 25 points for just signing up, 50 points for completing your user profile, 25 points for confirming email address and identity, 5 points for taking the new users tour, 10 points for completing additional profile surveys.
That’s about 115 points without even having to do the main work yet. It’s a good start and a complete boost for you.
If you’re keen on making money online with survey sites, then Survey Junkie isn’t a bad choice after all.
They offer you some features you wouldn’t get with other survey sites on the internet.
The site is simple, beginner-friendly, and have great ease of use.
Even though you’d get the chance to complete simple surveys, the money paid is very little and might make the whole process seem like a waste of time.
A great tip like I mentioned earlier is to use it as well as other survey sites so you can get invited to more surveys and increase your potential earnings on the long run.
If you want a means of earning extra bucks while laying on your couch or doing practically nothing tasking, then you should check out survey sites like Survey Junkie
Remember this, you won’t get rich enough to buy a Bugatti with Survey Junkie!
You should have realistic expectations with Survey Junkie and see it as a means to earn little pocket change not to enrich yourself.
