My name is Abida and this is my story, so far...
I’ll start with a truth that’s hard to admit: I had the dream job. The one people from my background would strive for, but I was completely empty.
Growing up South Asian in London, UK, I was deeply aware of the privilege that surrounded me. I had access to a world-class, free British education. This wasn’t just schooling; it was a powerful tool. My heritage instilled a constant drive to use it to radically change the quality of my life.
After earning a Business Information Systems degree, I secured a prestigious internship with British American Tobacco just months after graduation. I was supposed to feel proud and fulfilled. Instead, a deep hollowness settled in.
The 9–5 wasn’t a ticket to freedom, it was a timetable designed to build someone else’s dream. That realization was the true beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. My new, non-negotiable goal? Figure out how to make money in my sleep.
That internal void pushed me to launch my first business: a modest fashion brand called HEATLNDN. This wasn’t a random idea, it was born from my own challenge of finding modest, stylish clothing in the West.
I built the brand on Shopify and used Instagram for marketing. Sales came in. Revenue followed. But reality hit quickly:
Thin margins and low-quality products.
Chaotic logistics and long shipping times.
No clear blueprint to scale or sustain operations.
I had traded my 9–5 for a chaotic 5–9 hustle. Worse, to grow, I would have needed to become the face of the brand on social media, something I wasn't willing to do.
I walked away from that business with a crucial insight: the model wasn’t scalable or sustainable. It didn’t offer the freedom I craved. My research pivoted from how to make money to how to make money efficiently and at scale.
That led me to a powerful new concept.
High-ticket dropshipping was an immediate aha moment. It solved every pain point I’d experienced:
Premium products = higher profit margins.
Suppliers handled logistics = fewer headaches.
The business could grow without tying my identity to it.
Even more powerful? The existence of a system, an actionable roadmap.
I first discovered Brook Hiddik on TikTok. His message resonated: “Why sell to 100 people when you can sell to one and be profitable?”
That led me to his High-Ticket E-commerce course. I invested in late 2023, launched my business, built my store, and ran my first ad campaigns.
Three weeks later, I landed my first sale: $4,195 from my store, Lux Yard and Homes. It was a surreal, validating moment.
But I didn’t stop there. High-ticket selling is nuanced, and to go deeper, I joined Dropship Breakthru. It wasn’t just more info, it was mentorship, strategy, and direct support.
This combination, proven systems, mentorship, and the high-ticket model, became my path to real entrepreneurial freedom.
My corporate background and education weren’t wasted; they equipped me to build efficiency into my own life and business.
Your education is a powerful tool. But maximizing its value sometimes means choosing a different path.
I stopped optimizing someone else’s company and started optimizing my own life.
If my journey resonates with your desire for freedom, take the step. Invest in a course and mentorship program that will guide you through the process, just like I did.
