SaleHoo generally seems to be safe. They have been operating since 2005 without any major issue regarding scams or frauds.
In order to protect their customers, SaleHoo runs a strict verification process when selecting wholesalers for their website. This system minimizes the chance of members getting nasty surprises of counterfeit products or hit-and-run scammers while using SaleHoo.
SaleHoo has maintained a good reputation among their members when it comes to legitimacy. But of course, it doesn’t hurt to still be wary of fake suppliers or scammers when using the website. Remember to always check other members’ reviews of potential suppliers before signing any contract, just in case.
SaleHoo can be profitable for your business. Their market research tool offers you insight into which items are trending and profitable in various niches. SaleHoo also helps you find the right suppliers for you on their website.
However, you also need to remember that your profit margin depends on the amount that the supplier is charging you.
Depending on the suppliers, you can be charged lower or higher for a similar/particular product. Certain suppliers can charge close to the retail price on other websites like Amazon or eBay. With these suppliers, you may still make a profit but you might not earn as much as you first imagined.
However, with Salehoo, you will always have the ability to spend time browsing for more competitive suppliers to work with.
To help you make up your mind about SaleHoo, here’s a list of SaleHoo pros and cons.
If you’ve decided to get a SaleHoo membership, here are some tips to make the most out of your membership and get a great result with SaleHoo.
First, determine your niche. Of course, this applies to any sort of businesses, but this is especially important if you’re using SaleHoo. By knowing exactly what your niche is, you can maximize your use of the market research tool in finding the most profitable products.
Familiarize yourself with how drop shipping works. Make sure to read the available materials on SaleHoo to avoid any confusion when you start ordering items from the site later on.
Always compare prices between SaleHoo suppliers. Remember, your profit depends on what the suppliers charge you. So, set aside some time to gather information on at least two or three suppliers and figure out which one can give you the best deal.
If you’ve decided to settle on a supplier, that’s great! But before you agree on any contracts, make sure to read the terms thoroughly. Check if there are any terms you don’t agree with. Negotiate with the supplier or try contacting another supplier to get a better arrangement.
Lastly, make use of the support system. After all, it’s there for a reason. Visit the community forum to post questions and get the best tips on running an online business.
While SaleHoo is a great website, but it’s always nice to have some alternatives. Here are some sites which offer similar services to SaleHoo.
Doba provides its customers with access to more than 2 million products and 200 suppliers. Doba handles the negotiation between the supplier and the drop shipper, making it easier for casual resellers.
However, you can’t get in touch directly with the supplier on your own with Doba. Doba’s membership is also more expensive than Salehoo. It can set you back anywhere from $29 to $249 per month.

While Worldwide Brands have a similar amount of dropshipping suppliers listed in their directory these suppliers collectively have over 16 million products available.
Like SaleHoo, they also provide a great deal of training resources and verify suppliers before allowing them to list.
Regarding pricing, they only offer a one-off payment of $299 USD for lifetime membership. If you are interested in finding out more we compare Worldwide Brands and SaleHoo in more detail in our recently updated article.
SaleHoo is a great site for beginners who are just starting out their eCommerce business. It has a decent membership price, educational tools, and a rather extensive list of products and suppliers. Salehoo is also a safe haven for those who are looking for a low-risk way to run an online business as it eliminates the risk of getting scammed.
However, to be fair, more experienced sellers may choose to look for other wholesale directories with more extensive databases. This rings true especially if you have specific products in mind and wish to expand your supplier sources.
In my personal opinion, for most people, the small membership fee does not warrant spending time searching for greener grass. SaleHoo is a perfectly good option with a huge range of choices and tools to get you underway!
