SaleHoo vs Worldwide Brands 2024

The world of eCommerce is harsh – there’s no doubt about that!

Ask anyone who has been in eCommerce about their experiences; they’ll undoubtedly have many horror stories to tell.

One can arguably state that scammers far outnumber authentic dropshipping suppliers, making things incredibly frustrating for the sellers.

Legit providers of wholesale dropshipping directories are few and far between, but it’s not entirely impossible to find one trustworthy enough.

Enter: Salehoo and Worldwide Brands

Both these names represent reputed directories that provide you with legitimate, reliable, and trusted info on wholesalers and drop-shippers.

But which one should you choose?

Don’t worry, today I’ll give you a detailed comparison of both of these services and help you make the best choice.

Worldwide Brands vs Salehoo

To answer your question, which one is better, we have to take specific features into account from both the companies and make a side-by-side comparison.

To simplify this guide, I’m going to break up this section into individual parts and discuss the pros and cons of both Salehoo (you can read my full review here) and Worldwide Brands.

So, let’s begin:

Biggest Supplier Base

Salehoo currently has over 45,000 members and lists approximately just over 8,000 suppliers. Their website has a database of 2.5 million products (give or take) and the directory contains all products and suppliers in categories, including clothing and home supplies, technology, computing, etc.

Because Salehoo is a company based in New Zealand, you’ll find suppliers from its home country aside from common countries like China, the US, the UK, and Australia. The suppliers in this directory are categorized in a way that facilitates easy access even to non-techies.

Worldwide Brands also has pretty much the same number of suppliers but with a broader product base. Much larger! Around 10 times larger, bringing the count to a whopping 16 million! This directory has products in every category imaginable, ranging from every day ordinary to plain obscure.

Members can request to have a supplier added to the database if they have the qualifications but are not currently in it. But with the amount of products that are available, I’m not sure if this feature has any use at all.

Both companies follow a pretty stringent evaluation process, including but not limited to, being a visit to the supplier’s warehouse, checking product quality, the legitimacy of the brand, and their overall record of service.

Profit-making Ability

When it comes to evaluating profit-making capability, you must find out about the minimum order threshold that wholesalers and dropshippers offer. Luckily, both Salehoo and Worldwide Brands give you many choices with low minimum orders.

However, your profits margins are likely to be thin if you sell on the competitive marketplaces like Amazon or eBay. Besides, not all suppliers of a directory are going to sell you products at a price that is cheap enough to resell. That’s just a fact!

The best thing to do that will maximize margins is run your own e-commerce website if selling physical is not your thing. Also, note that Worldwide Brands is the only directory that’s officially approved by eBay.

Overall, I’d say you can make a profit from both if you know how to pick the right products and find out the correct channel of distribution.

Customer Support and Resources

Both companies go head-to-head as far as customer support is concerned. Salehoo offers excellent training resources in selling online that will come in handy for both beginners and intermediates. Their market research tool called Lab teaches you how to find and sell hot-in-demand products.

Worldwide Brands also have plenty of free resources to give away such as e-books and newsletters on how to manage a successful e-commerce business. And the best part is that you can get access to these resources even without registering.

This company, however, falters in one aspect – that is the engagement in forums. Worldwide Brands’ forums are inactive and may give you a hard time if you’re looking for a solution to a problem that’s rather specific. And this is a feature you have to pay for!

Pricing

Salehoo charges you $ 67 for yearly access to their SaleHoo Directory tools and forums or, $127 for a Lifetime access.

Whereas Worldwide Brands takes $ 299 for lifetime access to their database. So if you’re looking for a cheaper option, the answer should be obvious.

Even if you pay $ 67 a year for Salehoo’s membership, it will take more than four years to add up to the cost of Worldwide Brands. Obviously, this would all depend on your future plans for your business.

Alternatively, if you are in it for the long term and depending on your budget you could always purchase both memberships and put their best parts to use.

In Summary

Let's see each companies main supporting points:

Salehoo
Guarantees genuine products from suppliers that are all manually verified
Offer excellent training resources that cover A to Z of eCommerce marketing
Gives you access to about 8000 suppliers and 2.5 million products
The Market Research Labs tools come in handy for picking out popular products
Costs $67 for a year’s membership
Worldwide Brands
Manually checks all wholesalers and suppliers before listing them in categories
Has excellent training resources, many of which are free for everyone
Has a listing of over 8000 suppliers, with over 16m products
Costs $299 for lifetime membership

Worldwide Brands vs Salehoo: Final Verdict

Both Worldwide Brands and Salehoo make compelling cases as to why they are the best. The one that should be right for you mostly boils down to budget, requirements, and preferences in product types. You cannot go wrong with either.

If I have to edge one above the other it would be SaleHoo due to its superior dashboard and interface. But, to be fair...16 million products...whew, it all just depends on what you're after.

The low entry cost of Salehoo and their extensive learning resources make this choice excellent for people who are just getting their feet wet in e-commerce. Choose wisely but act fast because there is a lot of money waiting to be made.

Right now SaleHoo has a special deal for people who want to test it out. It is currently only $1 for a 30-day trial, and if you decide to continue with Salehoo after the trail, they offer a 60-day money-back guarantee.
