Groove Funnels is a special software suite, which combines various applications used to build sales funnels and websites.
Developed by Mike Filsaime’s Groove Digital, a well-known name in the digital marketing industry, the suite consists of a landing page builder, GrooveSell, which is a shopping cart builder and GrooveMail, which is an email service.
The three primary builders come packaged with additional software that’s used for building funnels that sell physical and digital products over the internet.
Ease Of Use
What I liked
What I didn't like
Amazon is a huge online selling platform that covers almost every product you’ll ever need.
With ZonGuru software and a set of tools, you’ll get ahead of the competition and have a greater chance to rank your business and product listings while creating potential opportunities all at once.
Here are the benefits you’ll enjoy with ZonGuru software.
We found that for the most part, GrooveFunnels is easy to use. Almost anyone who has used a page builder before can get up and running, building their own funnels within a matter of minutes.
The availability of numerous templates across various industries means that you can slap together a funnel within an hour. While choosing a template is easy, you might want to take some time adding important bits like your logo, intro video, content, etc.
Though for the most part, the template has you covered.
GrooveFunnels offers just about everything a business owner will want and need to sell their own physical and digital products.
However, some tools may require that you read the documentation closely to understand how all the features work to make the best use of them.
It goes without saying that a great funnel builder is an invaluable marketing tool. However, not only does it help you build funnels but with software for Webinar hosting, video embedding and customization, calendar aka appointment maker, survey tool, etc.
You get everything needed and more!
Unlike ClickFunnels, you don’t have to buy third-party tools to make full use of GrooveFunnels.
As mentioned earlier, you get everything you need for one price! Plus, they all play well with each other for the most part, so there are no issues at least in our experience.
To make a balanced insight, this tool does come with some cons, so it really is up to you to determine whether this software is right for YOUR business.
While GrooveFunnels is easy to use in the sense that most of it is drag and drop, many of the advanced features require that you dive deep into the documentation.
Not every tool is as intuitive as GroovePages, so it might take a while to figure everything out before you can maximize it.
A large number of tools and the fact that they are all integrated can make using GrooveFunnels at first a daunting task. In our opinion, GrooveFunnels should work on making it so that people don’t have to deal with each tool and their inherent nuances.
A handful of generalized tools would probably be the best approach.
We managed to run into a few bugs despite the software not being in beta any longer and us testing it for a few days. Now, we’ve been assured that bugs are actively being fixed by the company’s developers and there is no reason to doubt that.
However, it is something to be mindful of especially if you’re entrusting GrooveFunnels to potentially thousands of dollars’ worth of business and traffic.
Many of the tools in GrooveFunnels were unable to test because they would either be available sometime in December 2020 or early 2021. Exact dates haven’t been published by the company.
That said, based on what we’ve seen so far there is certainly a lot of promise, but because much of the most exciting tools aren’t out yet, we can’t say how useful they will be. Not to mention if they will add any value.
GrooveFunnels started out being called GrooveApps, and many still use this name. However, it has since been rebranded to GrooveFunnels.
GrooveFunnels is a suite of multiple apps which include just about everything an online seller will need to get their product or service across to their intended audience.
However, before you venture out and subscribe to GrooveFunnels, it would be worth reading through to find out what all these apps do and most of all, what they can’t!
GroovePages is GrooveFunnels funnel builder that uses a drag and drop interface, making it easier for online marketers to build their funnels or business landing pages.
Most of all, the emphasis here is on building professional-looking pages that make a measurable difference.
One of the first things we noticed about GroovePages is the fact that it is pretty simple. Most people who can use a computer with some design skill can build great looking pages.
Adding text, reducing or increasing font sizes as well as changing the color is easy. Furthermore, resizing images takes a couple of seconds, just click and resize it via the menu on the right.
Speaking of speed GrooveFunnels’ GroovePages loads fast because it uses the Google cloud platform. Just about any type of page will load fast, be fully functional with animated menus etc.
GroovePages ensures that you can create as many landing pages and or sales funnels as needed. Not to mention that you can do this for life, and not have to pay extra which is in stark contrast to other page builders today.
Adding a page is also easy, just click the “Pages” tab on the left, then the “+” sign and the page is added.
GrooveSell is a powerful affiliate management and sales platform that’s integrated into the GrooveFunnels suite. The software gives you just about everything needed to sell physical and digital products over the internet.
GrooveSell is very similar to GroovePages in its simplicity.
You can create sales funnels for an unlimited number of products, add flexible pricing options like for reoccurring payments, instalments, etc., checkout options, and track how well your affiliate program is working.
The analytics in this GrooveFunnel tool is pretty in-depth in our experience and gives you a fair good idea of how well or bad for that matter things may be going.
In addition to creating unlimited funnels for products, you can also create ‘thank you’ pages in Groovefunnels that dynamically adjust to what the customer has purchased on the website. You can add options for upsells, and even downsells, which helps increase the overall transaction value.
Major payment gateways like Authnet, Paypal, Brain tree and Stripe can be integrated into Groovefunnels, which in our experience took a bit of time. There is a degree of complexity involved with some back and forth. The upside is that there are no monthly fees, and especially no transaction fees.
GrooveMail is GroovePage’s email marketing CRM which has a bit of automation built into it. It also works as an autoresponder that will send text as well as voice SMS, work with behavioral targeting specifications, broadcasting and sequence automation.
GrooveMail is currently available for all members. GrooveFunnels “Free” members can use the lite version. Though once you upgrade to the paid version, GrooveMail can then be used to send over 25,000 emails a day.
Interestingly, it is priced at a third of the cost of other competing programs like Mailchimp, especially when you factor in what’s included in the suite.
In practice, using GrooveMail takes some getting used to.
Setting up a campaign is easy, but when you want to use features like behavioral targeting, that’s when things get a little complex.
While granted that GrooveFunnels has a pretty extensive tutorial on how to set it up, it isn’t something you can master in a single session.
Though whether you do outreach or use GrooveMail to mass send promotional emails, it is worth familiarizing yourself with all the advanced features.
One of the best ways to make money online is to build a membership website for a couple of select niches like health, maybe beauty or making money online.
The purpose of a membership site is to engage with the members or users, in a way so that they want to continue being members and eventually become a customer.
While there are many strategies of creating a membership site, and numerous means in which they can be monetized, the easiest of which is via a monthly subscription.
In other words, the user pays each month to have access to the tools, services and content that can otherwise not be found anywhere else for free.
The other strategy is not to have a monthly fee, but instead market each product systematically. So, with no money initially involved, people aren’t easily scared away.
While it is a complex method and requires the use of additional tools like an Autoresponder and some Copywriting skill, but that’s where GrooveMember can help.
We were able to create a membership site within a couple of hours using GrooveFunnels GrooveMembers tool, set up a payment method, upload some content and be up and running to receive members. All we had to do is maybe start marketing the site.
Similar to all other Groove Funnel tools, GrooveMembers offers a drag and drop interface for the most part.
That said, when it comes to more complex bits like dynamic content, and security, that’s where GrooveMembers requires taking the time out to read the tutorial to set things up correctly.
What if you want to recruit an affiliate army for your next big digital product or maybe even a physical product? Well, GrooveFunnels has your covered.
GrooveAffiliate is a separate app, which integrates directly into GrooveSell.
So, it offers the benefits and ease of use associated with GrooveSell, while being able to create resources to recruit affiliates, track sales and even build a joint venture electronically with another company.
GrooveAffiliate allowed us to create a dedicated affiliate section on our website, complete with resources, and dynamic affiliate links which place tracking cookies on user’s websites.
The entire system calculates commissions and tracks the progress of each affiliate.
The dashboard, give you a pretty good overview of how things are progressing which then allows you to work to ensure your affiliates are supported to help increase sales.
When using GrooveAffiliate, we were impressed with how easy it was to create an affiliate program. It takes just a few minutes if you’ve already planned the commission structure and payout frequencies in advance.
A few clicks later, your affiliate site is ready to welcome new affiliates.
An increasing number of people spend time on video sharing platforms like YouTube.
So, it is evident that ‘video’ is a big deal. Thats where GrooveFunnels GrooveVideo comes in and helps you capitalize on this so-called big deal by being able to create videos that generate leads, use it as a marketing tool, and turn on a bunch of automated settings based on which videos were watched.
GrooveVideos also has the built-in capability of sharing videos on social networks like Facebook, which is similar to the stand-alone app called Kartra.
That said during our time testing out this software when reviewing GrooveFunnels, we ran into a couple of bugs. Furthermore, much of the software still seems to be a work in progress. So, in our opinion, it isn’t yet ready for primetime.
GrooveWebinars is currently a small part of the GrooveFunnels universe of software.
Still, it is one of the most important ones for businesses that rely on making money via webinar sessions. The tool has both an automated and a live webinar platform that can be used as required.
Our first impressions of GrooveWebinar was that it had an uncanny resemblance to StealthWebinar and EverWebinar, but only with a slightly better interface and obviously being more affordable.
Setting up a webinar in GrooveFunnels is made easy thanks to a few well-made templates which can be edited to how you want it to look. You can customize the templates to add a footer and header, as well as a calendar, logo, time of the webinar, and terms of service etc.
While all of this sounds easy, the tool is currently in beta, and we were not able to take it for a complete spin. However, it is scheduled to be released towards the end of 2020 but it will be reserved for people with the Platinum Plan.
GrooveKart gives you the opportunity to expand your business. So, if you intend on selling more than just eBooks, designs and other digital products, GrooveKart has you covered. Consider it an alternative to Shopify.
Using GrooveKart, you can sell a boatload of physical products, and set up the marketplace the way you want it to because it becomes your very own sales platform.
GrooveKart comes complete with timers, analytics, retargeting, social proof, and various funnels.
Our limited time with GrooveFunnels GrooveKart proved that it was a valuable tool. However, there is a learning curve associated with it.
Take, for instance; it isn’t as easy to maybe automatically categorize certain types of products like electronics, crockery, lights, etc. like it is with some other platforms.
Currently, GrooveKart isn’t part of the GrooveFunnels software suite like the way it originally was. However, as part of a special promotion, it is available for GrooveFunnels Platinum users.
GroovePages for Shopify is similar to the regular version of GroovePages but this time around you can build Shopify centric pages. However, it is available as a stand-alone app for Shopify, for $49 a month.
Now whether you think it is worth it is another debate altogether. That said how much you are willing to pay for the ability to easily customize your Shopify page funnels, upsell pages, site pages and checkout pages?
We tried creating a couple of pages using GroovePages for Shopify, and it worked exactly as expected. However, we did encounter some bugs.
The first and most irritating bug was the fact that the page didn’t show up in preview properly until we switched from Firefox to Chrome.
The second prominent one was that each time we added more than 5 pictures of the product, the app hung up on us. Not sure what is causing these issues, but we are pretty sure it has nothing to do with our souped-up computer.
GrooveQuiz is integrated within the Groovefunnel lifetime online software suite, which allows you to create an endless number of quizzes and surveys. These quizzes can be placed on your websites, funnels, or landing pages.
It is proven that when used correctly, quizzes help to improve and grow your mailing list exponentially. The fact that they can help market your product or service so effectively while gaining feedback makes them extremely important.
However, GrooveQuiz isn’t available yet as of this writing. It is estimated to be available sometime in 2021.
Now it is a pretty established fact that all businesses need a blog. One way to have a blog is to use WordPress, which works perfectly for many businesses, but there are drawbacks to it.
GrooveBlog though is something that most solo writers and entrepreneurs will love owing to its WordPress like feeling, which makes it easy to use.
According to the Groovefunnels, GrooveBlog will offer support for SEO, which will make optimizing and ranking content easier. However, the expected launch date for GrooveBlog is sometime in December 2020.
If Mike Filsaime is right, we might all be ditching WordPress and go groovy with GrooveBlog.
Now all businesses need to have some form of customer support, and the most common type utilizes tickets. Also referred to as helpdesk software, GrooveDesk handles just about everything you need to keep your customers happy.
If you are using GrooveFunnels, and have set up a membership site for instance or maybe an online store, your customers and submit a support ticket if they run into issues. Also, they can use it to request a refund.
While functionality is currently limited compared to many of the competitors in this space, since it is part of the suite, we think it will improve with time. Even right now, it is entirely usable and useful.
As a business, you are probably juggling multiple appointments and are unable to keep track of all of them at the same time. GrooveCalender, promises to undertake all that juggling for you so that you don’t have to worry about it.
Using GrooveFunnels’ GrooveCalender, you can set up meetings and appointments along with coaching sessions, booked slots, etc., within a matter of minutes.
Now because it is integrated with GrooveMail, you can set up automatic email reminders and even follow-up sequences that trigger at a time of your choosing.
While GrooveCalender isn’t live and available for testing yet. We can safely say that it will probably help speed up managing appointments.
However, it will have to make things easier than other software suits that do the same thing, many of which are free.
For instance, what’s stopping you from using your email client to set up an email reminder? Not to mention that Windows and Android both have built-in calendar features which can be synced to your computer.
So, GrooveCalender will have to pull off something that can’t be done using other software for it be worth the membership or in this case subscription.
GrooveSurvey and GrooveQuiz will both work hand in hand. That means each one will be integrated into the other. However, until we can get our hands on GrooveSurvey, we won’t be able to say for sure how they work.
Though, the general idea is that it will make adding a survey to your funnel immensely easy, as well as tracking the response. Other than that, we’ll have to wait till the end of the year for the feature to be launched in GrooveFunnel to test it out.
GrooveFunnels offers standard support. People who have an issue can contact support via the ticket system. However, we’ve visited the company’s support page and read through their somewhat extensive list of tutorials and how-to’s.
There are around 33 tutorial videos, and 69 articles in addition to a few other articles that mostly cover GroovePages.
If anything we aren’t entirely satisfied with GrooveFunnels database of tutorials. It certainly does not cover everything. That’s why 80% of people will still need to use the ticket system to contact support.
Fortunately, support is pretty quick to respond, which is a definite plus.
We sure hope that GrooveFunnels will add more videos explaining some of the stuff in more detail. Also, go into all the latest features and software they plan on releasing soon.
GrooveFunnels does not have a forum; at least we couldn’t find one. That said they have a Facebook page with not much action so far.
So, we’ll assume that the community isn’t all that large and most people who are using GrooveFunnels are not as active as they are with some other competing platforms.
GrooveFunnels has a couple of different pricing tiers. Each tier offers more features.
Now if the GroveFunnel Base Plan is not for you, the next one up is the Silver Plan for $99 a month. The Silver Plan comes with GrooveSell, GroovePages Pro, GrooveAffiliate, GrooveMail, GrooveMember and Groove Video.
In our opinion, most people will do well by opting for this plan, especially if they are just starting.
The Next One up is the GrooveFunnels Gold Plan for $199 a month. The Gold Plan gives you all the features of the Silver Plan but with the addition of GrooveBlog, GrooveQuiz, GrooveDesk, GrooveSurvey, and GrooveCalender.
We’ve already run through all the features above. However, in our opinion, the GoldPlan will probably work best with someone who creates and manages multiple products, because it streamlines a lot of the work involved.
Now if you’ve already used GrooveFunnels and have become a fan of the product, how about a lifetime membership? That’s where GrooveFunnels Platinum comes in. You can choose to pay for the Platinum subscription using three payment tiers:
In our opinion, the first option is best because it will help you save the most money. But if you have budget constraints, then the other options will and should work too, just remember you’ll be paying slightly more.
What you end up paying for GrooveFunnels will depend on the plan you choose. The Base Plan is free, but the company can change this at any time.
However, the BasePlan is a good place to start but offers the bare essentials like GrooveSell, GroovePages lite, and GrooveAffiliate. Also, Base Plan users can promote GrooveFunnels and earn an affiliate commission.
The Platinum Lifetime Plan is also referred to as the lifetime deal. The lifetime deal has been around for a while, but the company has said that it won’t be around for long. So, people who get it today will be locking it in for as long as they live.
Now, apart from gaining access to all GrooveFunnels products for your entire life, the company also promises to store all your data for life.
Furthermore, users get access to all future GrooveFunnel updates and products, which the company promises will be many.
The best part of the lifetime deal is that you get lifetime VIP tickets to the GrooveKon. It is a networking event that’s held each year. While it isn’t as big as maybe ComicCon, but as they grow, so will be the number of people attending it.
The GrooveFunnel partner program or the affiliate program gives users the chance to earn up to a 40% recurring commission on every person they refer. However, they will get a 20% commission if the person they refer opts for the free Base plan.
The way GrooveFunnels partner or affiliate program works is that you need to signup for at least the Basic Account, and that will get you into the program. You can now access your promotional tools and most of all, the affiliate link.
As part of the basic plan, you have access to GroovePages and GrooveSell, both of which are pretty nifty affiliate platforms. So, it will allow you to very easily set up an affiliate site and start marketing GrooveFunnels to earn some passive income.
Each time you refer a user to ClickFunnels, the software can track where the person came from and who the person that referred them to the system is and then also who referred them!
The chain-like relationship is hardcoded into the affiliate tag that you use. The benefit of this approach is that each time you successfully refer a person to the platform, and they create a free account using your link, the account is also linked to you.
So, GrooveFunnels will always know who referred them.
The good news is that you are not required to do all the heavy lifting. As an affiliate, you don’t need to install cookies.
You also don’t need to worry about the person you have referred may be using some other computer or a mobile device to upgrade to a paid plan.
Since 99% of people will start with a free GrooveFunel account, it gives affiliates the peace of mind that once they upgrade they are inline for a commission bump.
Plus, regardless of the device they use to upgrade their commission is still destined for them even many months later. Similarly, where they (referrals) signup from, i.e. country does not matter either.
It is also possible to earn a commission when the person you referred, goes ahead and refers somebody else to the platform. The system has been designed so that it will automatically link the person back to you as the original referrer in the chain.
It is a lot like having a downline in Multi-Level Marketing (MLM).
It is the chain structure and the possibility of earning a Tier 2 affiliate commission that sets GrooveFunnels’ system affiliate program apart from the others.
Tier 2 affiliate commission can add up pretty quickly, especially if you end up referring a popular influencer in the business world. That one person could refer potentially hundreds of people!
The fact that GrooveFunnels isn’t entirely off the ground, and it has already raised over $3 million dollars on Kickstarter, is proof that there is a lot of potential to earn by both referring others to the platform and using it.
Getting in on the action right now will mean that you ride the crest as all the tools become available by early 2021.
While GrooveFunnels may allude to them offering a unique platform and service that can’t be found anywhere else, in reality, that isn’t the case. Two of the closest competitors are ClickFunnels and Kartra.
However, there are differences, and we’ll try to outline as many differences as possible so that you can make a decision based on what value each of them have to offer when compared to GrooveFunnels.
Now both GrooveFunnels and Clickfunnels are proverbially dialed in sales funnel builders; there is a lot that’s similar between them, including their naming conventions.
However, it is easy to spot the similarities, but buried deep within are significant differences between both.
OK, so what do we mean?
Well by size and scope, we mean that ClickFunnels is a technical tool which can be used by a business to understand and the train on the concept of building an effective sales funnel.
It also happens to double as a brilliant web design tool. Though ClickFunnels is limited when compared to GrooveFunnels.
GrooveFunnels is probably one of the fastest-growing companies in the online marketing space. Each day they have thousands of people who signup, and it is estimated they will become the market leaders by 2022.
However, one of the big reasons why they are leading is because GrooveFunnels covers just about everything an internet-based business or marketer will need in a well-designed package.
So, if we were to choose a software package that offered the most features and functionality for our business, it would have to be GrooveFunnels.
Now, this is one battle that so far, ClickFunnels is losing. The platform, as of this writing, does not support hosting the video itself. That’s why if you want to take advantage of video content, you will have to use YouTube, and then embed the video in your funnel.
While GrooveFunnels announced that its video hosting solution would be ready by late June 2020, so, far it appears to be delayed.
However, when launched, the company promises numerous ways to customize the videos in the funnels with tags, CTAs, etc., to each video. It will also allow for A/B testing videos and analyzing each piece of content individually.
ClickFunnels has a significant advantage here, and that’s in part because of Russell Brunson. Now for those who don’t know the FunnelFlix is often referred to as the “Netflix of online marketing” mainly because of their extensive library of courses.
Subscribers to ClickFunnels automatically get access to FunnelFlix, which is an excellent source of internet marketing, affiliate marketing, web design, funnel building knowledge. Though your membership level dictates how much you can access.
The only people who can take full advantage of the library are Collective and Platinum users.
Unfortunately, GrooveFunnels currently does not have any such partnership. Though if you don’t care much about FunnelFlix, then it’s a perk that won’t be missed.
What could have been one of the most useful features that ClickFunnels offered turns out to be underwhelming, to say the least?
It does not allow your clients to book appointments with a few clicks, and it isn’t the easiest to set up or use for that matter.
While the platform has some semblance of a tool that should work like that, it does not, and that’s why users have to pay extra cash for a third party solution.
GrooveFunnels’ Calendar feature, on the other hand, is a winner. You can schedule appointments, and it integrates into your funnel within just a few clicks.
So, if you’re a doctor, for instance, clients can visit your site, book an appointment online, and you’ll be notified of it. It automatically handles everything, so all you need is to take a look at the calendar to find out who is scheduled to see you next.
As I already mentioned, GrooveFunnels will launch the GrooveDesk app shortly. It will allow you to submit support tickets, access an in-depth knowledge base, and provide real-time assistance via chat.
Unfortunately, ClickFunnels doesn’t have a helpdesk, and I don’t expect them to roll one out anytime soon.
Since the speed of your website now affects how well you rank according to many experts, you’ll always want to build a page that’s super-fast or at least as fast as it can be and here is where GrooveFunnels is ahead of ClickFunnels that uses an older platform.
The other thing you should consider is the ability to add fresh content, which is another SEO factor. Creating a blog makes adding fresh content easy, but with ClickFunnels, you can’t create a blog.
Though currently, the blogging feature isn’t available with GrooveFunnels either, it will be available starting in 2021. That’s why if it is site speed and SEO that you want, then we’ll recommend choosing GrooveFunnels.
Many people may look at Kartra as a GrooveFunnels alternative, and while both software suits share similar features, there are also differences.
Now before you choose Kartra over GrooveFunnels or vice versa, we’d strongly advise that you familiarize yourself with the differences between both. Fortunately, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you and here is what we’ve discovered.
Perhaps one of the most prominent differences between both Kartra and GrooveFunnels is in how webinars are handled. Kartra does not host webinars, whereas GrooveFunnels does.
While it is available only if you have the $299 plan, it is still a nifty feature. That being said as of this writing, the Webinar feature is yet to be launched, and it is scheduled for 2021.
Building a webinar hosting platform and then running one can be very expensive. That’s why the fact that GrooveFunnels is going to offer it and Kartra does not is certainly worth considering.
While we acknowledge that both platforms are incredibly powerful, and they both work perfectly. The one drawback of Katra is that it is using an older platform and that gives GrooveFunnels the lead since it is quicker, consequently performing more fluidly.
Plus, GrooveFunnels looks more modern, which will probably appeal to most people.
GrooveFunnels is relatively new, while Kartra has been around for a while. It has thousands of customers, and the number of bugs is fewer as compared to GrooveFunnels.
GrooveFunnels is certainly off to a good start but most of it is still in beta, and as we mentioned earlier there are bugs that users need to deal with and if they can’t then get in touch with support.
It might take a few years before GrooveFunnels is more polished.
Now there is no way to import a campaign in GrooveFunnels from another software package. On the other hand, Kartra is capable of importing campaigns, which saves users boatloads of time.
Affiliate Program for GrooveFunnels and Kartra
People who are into affiliate marketing and want to make money from the platform will find that Kartra’s straight-up 40% commission is simple and quick.
On the other hand, GrooveFunnel offers a 20% commission for people they call “free affiliates” and 40% for paid affiliates.
However, to promote Kartra, you need to be qualified. On the other hand, you can create an account with GrooveFunnels with no such prerequisite.
When researching this GrooveFunnels review, we set out to answer a more personal question which was if we would even use it.
Would we switch to using GrooveFunnels from what we are doing right now (Clickfunnels and Kartra), even if it is so that all our online marketing tools are in one place?
The answer to that is yes we would, but GrooveFunnels still has some way to go before we’d call it the type of software you can entrust with thousands of dollars.
While there are other similar tools, GrooveFunnels is opting to offer more for what may appear less. However, until all the tools are out, and we can test each one individually, it’s hard to call GrooveFunnels a complete, mainly bug-free package.
So, for now, we’d conclude this GrooveFunnels review by saying, signup and take it for a spin, even if it is for free, then maybe upgrade when all the tools are out of beta.
